There are only a few weeks left before the big day. Just a handful of classes remain before your dancer takes the stage! Here are some ways you and your dancer can feel most prepared for recital and ready to enjoy the show…
1. Talk about it
This is especially important with younger dancers, or dancers who may be performing for the first time. Everyone can get overwhelmed in a new situation, but knowing what to expect can make a big difference.
For example, young dancers will need to be prepared to leave their grown-up to go backstage to perform while they are cared for by our professional and experienced Liberty Dance Center team. Talk about this ahead of time so that there are no surprises the day of the show for your little one.
2. Practice
Take a video of your dancer, or have them get a video in their class if they are older. We are always ok with you videotaping for practice! Just please be sure to remain outside of the studio when doing so, so as not to distract the dancers working.
Dancers will have fun “performing” at home for family members. This practice is especially important during recital week, as we do not have regular classes.
3. No question is a bad question
We are here to help! Please ask any questions you may have. Our staff is more than happy to assist you. Ask in-person, or reach out via email or call at any time. You can also find many important recital details on the recital website, linked at the bottom of every weekly Wednesday email, and on our Liberty Dance Center website.
Finish off strong as we spend these next few weeks DANCING LIKE CHAMPIONS!
