April is National Volunteer Month! As such, we would like to highlight some of the volunteer work we do at Liberty Dance Center!
We have a chapter of Darby’s Dancers here at the studio. Darby’s Dancers is a national organization with the mission of bringing the joy of dance to special needs children. It was founded in memory of Darby Jones, a very special girl who loved to dance. Her legacy lives on through the many dancers who now have the chance to dance because of her.
Our Darby’s Dancers program serves over 30 students from our area. Each dancer is paired with a Big Sister whom they get to dance with each week. Our Big Sisters are all middle and high school students who volunteer their time every Saturday morning to dance with our Darby’s students. They truly make an impact in the lives of these dancers and our program would not be what it is without them!
Come Join Us This National Volunteer Month
Darby’s Dancers will be in need of more Big Sisters for the 2022-2023 dance season. If you or someone you know is interested, please reach out to Miss Kate or Mr. Mike for more information.
Our Performing Company also participates in many different volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Some of these include cheering in walks for various charities, making and sending cards to senior centers, making blessing bags for the homeless.
Our studio also partners with the Christmas clearing council each year and we are always blown away with the generosity of our studio families.
Moreover, we know that many of our studio families volunteer in countless other ways in the Waukesha community to make a difference in the lives of others. This month, we celebrate all of you too! Thank you to all volunteers who make our world a better place.
