This past weekend, our Performing Company, Sparkle Squad, and Competition Team dancers took to the stage! Every year, the LDC Team Showcase performance is a chance for dancers to shine before they take to the even bigger stage at competition and community performances.
The showcase was held at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield. The theater was practically full to capacity with family, friends, and supporters of Liberty Dance Center filling the seats. Even if they didn’t have dances in the show, LDC staff still came out to watch the performance and support their coworkers and the dancers. This says a lot about the special dance family we have built at Liberty!
Team Showcase
Team Showcase is a great opportunity for the dancers to cheer one another on! When they weren’t performing, Sparkle Squad and Performing Company dancers watched in the audience, taking it all in and cheering on their peers. Older dancers encouraged each other backstage and worked together to make the show the best it could be.
Showcase is always a learning opportunity and a chance to get the jitters out before the bigger competitions and performances in the upcoming months. It shines a light on the teamwork that makes the dream work! It also gives dancers a chance to reflect on their performance, and teachers a chance to come together and brainstorm on how to make great dances even better!
As dancers, we know there is no such thing as perfect. There are always corrections to take to heart and new goals to pursue. Isn’t this true for life in general? Dance teaches us so much more than technique or physical skills. The artistry, creativity, and drive that dance fosters in students is invaluable. We look forward to continuing to help this develop in the coming months for all of our students!
Thank you for coming out to support all of our performers at Team Showcase!
