The holidays are a time of hustle and bustle, excitement and business, joy and sometimes sorrow. Many people are going through hard times this year, especially in the wake of the Waukesha parade tragedy.
Our December challenge for “Live Your Best Life” at Liberty Dance Center has focused on giving. In case you missed it last week…we as a studio collected over $2600, Liberty Dance Center matched that AND rounded up to $6,000. Then we made the donation via United Way, where there was a match by the Fotsch Family Foundation. So we donated $12,000 in total!! The point being, a little can go a long way when we work together.
So, the question is, how can you give for the sake of giving this holiday season? Can you give your time to help someone who could use support? Can you give resources to a family who is struggling? Can you simply give a listening ear or a smile to someone who could use some positivity in their life?
When you come to dance class, how can you give more of yourself? Can you encourage a classmate when they nail a piece of choreography? Can you dance your lyrical piece to the fullest level of expression and bring those emotions to those who watch you? Can you simply give a little bit more than you did the week before to help your body and your dancing technique grow stronger?
As 2021 comes to a close, give yourself grace. Give yourself props for the times you succeeded and reflect on areas where you can grow. Then take that grace and extend it to others both on and off the dance floor. As we usher in 2022, give yourself permission to LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE!
