We are excited about the Darby’s Dancers program we started in 2017 to serve children with special needs. Our Darby’s Dancers program provides weekly dance classes and gives the kids a chance to develop a love for dance and performance. The program also provides the children the chance to meet new friends, learn new skills and get some healthy exercise. Classes are offered both in-studio and virtually.
Each dancer is partnered with a “Big Sister”, a teenage dancer that volunteers their time to assist the child in class and provide the support the dancer often requires.
The Darby’s Dancers program at Liberty Dance Center is an affiliate program of the local United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF). Though the support of Liberty Dance Center, local businesses like Culver’s on Grandview in Waukesha and organizations such as UPAF, Wisconsin Energy Foundation and others, the program is offered at minimal expense to the participating families..
We have partnered with Darby’s Dancers, a national non-profit 501(c)(3) organization located in Alabama. We were the 20th chapter of this program nationwide. It now has more than 60 chapters across the country and keeps growing!
