What does a dance studio do when the government shuts down “non-essential” businesses due to a global pandemic?
Some dance studios will just shut their doors and wait for their state or municipality to allow them to re-open. Sadly, this leaves their students without the option to keep up with their dance studies, stay physically active, or stay connected with their “second family”.
Other dance studios, like Liberty Dance Center, pivots quickly to adapt their in-studio dance programs to a virtual platform. This keeps their business going strong but more importantly, it keeps their students connected to their love of dance, their teachers, and dance friends.
In addition to bringing some much-needed normalcy to the children’s lives, this also teaches life lessons, such as facing problems head-on, keeping positive attitudes, and learning to persevere through life’s challenges. Besides just providing online dance classes, there are many other resources a dance studio can provide to their students to keep them connected in positive ways.
In the coming weeks watch for several more posts on how Liberty Dance Center faced this challenge and how it is positively impacting the children and families we serve.
