Your local dance studio can play an incredibly important role in your local community.
This series of blog posts will highlight the different ways the dance studio down the street may be able to impact the community they are in. Here are the topics we will cover today and in upcoming posts:
- Dance provides great, fun activity for young children that helps them develop both physically and mentally
- Dance studios can provide great role models for children
- Dance studios can actively engage in their community to make it a better place to live
Part 1 – Child Development
The first positive impact we want to discuss is the impact dance can have on a child’s development.
Dance is an excellent way to get children involved in an activity that engages them. It is a fun way to exercise even at ages as early as two years old.
Dance provides an activity where the child can use their entire body and its various muscles groups.
Dancing also provides an excellent form of aerobic exercise that helps children strengthen their cardiovascular system, increase their lung capacity and build endurance.
Dance is also a positive activity in a child’s mental development when a child learns choreography and dance routines.
Learning various dance routines helps strengthen the child’s cognitive and memory skills. Furthermore, dance allows children to tap into their emotions and build self confidence.
So a good dance studio provides these developmental benefits if done in a safe, supportive environment. This can can have a huge impact for families and the community the child lives in.
The next post in this series focuses on other ways your dance studio contributes positively to the community.
