Last weekend, a special group of Liberty Dance Center dancers traveled to DeForest, WI to compete at AMP Dance Competition for three jam-packed days of dancing. They danced their hearts out and took home many awards. The rewards of competing go far beyond the trophies and accolades we bring home, though.
Competition Teams
Competition teams are not the end all and be all of our studio, but they are an important part of what makes a good dancer a great one. The competition teams are a perfect outlet for students who want to push themselves further in their dancing.
Having an end goal like competing gives these dancers something extra special to work for. They receive feedback from dance professionals and get a chance to see dancers from other studios as well.
A Bonding Experience
Competition is a bonding experience for these girls. Memories are made both onstage and off. They get to share in the joy of supporting one another, and they always come through for their peers. The bonding that happens backstage, whether that’s helping each other with hair and makeup or making silly videos, will last a lifetime!
After a weekend of competing, dancers come home inspired. They are riding the high of performance and they come home with the feedback of professional judges that helps them to hone their craft for future performances. This pushes them to keep reaching higher.
If any of these aspects of competing sound interesting to you and your dancer, talk to Miss Kate about joining the competition teams for our next season!
