Here at our Liberty Dance Center dance studio, we believe dance can be for everyone. This includes preschool age children to adults and beginner dancers to dancers with a competitive drive. As a well-rounded dance studio, we can also offer dance programs providing for children with special needs through programs like Darby’s Dancers.
A quality dance educator isn’t quick to declare a student or group of students as “not good enough” or “not good enough to compete” as a member of the studio team. A quality dance
instructor and a well-rounded studio builds a culture and environment that focuses on the art of dance. Such programs teach dance through technique and artistic style while offering acceptance of all skills and diversity.
The art of dance is not just for the very best dancers, it doesn’t always require Olympic level skill, rather it requires patience, time, love, and a nurturing and fun environment.
By doing this, dance educators create dancers who enjoy the experience of dance, while building long-lasting relationships and skills that will help the dance students long after their tenure at the dance studio has ended.
A quote from Misty Lown of More Than Just Great Dancing captures this idea nicely, “We don’t teach kids to make great dancers, we teach dance to make great kids.”
